“At HP, we’re positioned to thrive at the intersection of customer delight, business value, and tech innovation.”

– Masooma Naqvi, VP of Product Management at HP Digital Services

One of the most rewarding aspects of joining HP to lead Worldwide Digital Services Product and Design is the chance to build a truly product-led organization that is grounded in a clear, customer-focused vision. Coming from product leadership roles at Google, PayPal, and Amazon, I’m excited to take on some of the biggest challenges facing the modern workforce.

Today, many employees are unhappy at work. According to a recent Gallup survey, 62% of workers do the bare minimum on the job, while 15% feel miserable and are actively seeking new employment. Digital friction across devices and technologies is a key culprit, especially with the rise of hybrid and remote work. That’s why now more than ever, IT teams require more robust solutions to help lower costs, improve ROI on technology investments, and optimize the digital employee experience.

Product-led and purpose-driven

With the HP Workforce Experience Platform (WXP), my teams are driving swift, impactful decisions and speeding up product rollouts. However, building a product-led organization is about more than just moving quickly; it’s about solving critical challenges while achieving a balance between business value, customer success, and tech innovation.

This approach allows us to continuously refine our offerings, ensuring each release meets the evolving needs of our customers. Learnings are incorporated into our product roadmap, where we’re taking deliberate and calculated steps to ensure we’re delivering the best solutions to the market. During our private beta period, we saw the impact of this firsthand as we leveraged user feedback for rapid feature iteration and fine-tuning of our platform CX.

Accelerated Learning and Iterative Improvements Through Private Beta

Our platform is purpose-built to intelligently anticipate and resolve digital friction across every employee endpoint from a single, unified dashboard. From day one, the private beta goal was to work closely with select customers and partners to seek feedback, learn, and iterate on our product and processes.

Over the last six months, this approach included product observations, early adoption inquiries, and co-creation workshops. Along with tracking usage data, these methods allowed us to gain valuable insights, refine features, and optimize the user experience while validating the value the platform can drive for users. Some of the highlights include:

  • Enrolling over 180k devices for our partners and customers and over 90k devices for our own HP employees to exceed our initial projections.
  • Helping customers navigate a recent security incident by helping them rapidly assess, track, and address the impact on their business operations.
  • Accelerating our plans to launch private beta in the UK while remaining on track to launch beta access for our U.S. Proactive Insights customers this month.

The next phase of our product rollout will feature an upgraded UI and navigation, enhanced features and third-party integrations (including Power BI, Power Automate, and ServiceNow), and customizable reporting and analytics, further enhancing our ability to proactively manage and improve the digital experience.

Native AI in the HP Workforce Experience Platform

One of the biggest questions facing SaaS companies today is how to inherently design or build AI into a product’s core to create real intrinsic value rather than just sprinkling “salt and pepper” AI features on top.

At HP, our platform has been completely revamped from the ground up with AI as a foundational core component. This means that as we solve for challenges like anticipating IT issues, automating remediations, enhancing fleet management, and improving overall engagement, we apply AI-first principles across what we envision and build. Some of the key solutions we’re excited to roll out in the months ahead include:

  • Fleet Explorer: Enables natural language conversations about the PC and print fleet without needing to code or dig through the data.
  • Employee Engagement Module: Captures pulse feedback from end users and utilizes an LLM (Large Language Model) to quickly process open-text feedback and identify key themes and problem areas.
  • Smart Device Refresh: Segments employees based on their work types and application usage to recommend the right devices for each employee profile.
  • Anomaly Detection and Remediation: Uses AI on top of existing machine learning to identify and remediate actionable issues.

Built to process and serve data in real-time, these features will be critical as we help IT teams evolve from being reactive to proactive. Looking ahead, we have a robust lineup of AI features to roll out that will enhance our competitive edge and further differentiate our platform in the market.

We’re Just Getting Started

A product-led organization is one where the organization is aligned around delivering value to customers, with the product serving as the primary driver of customer acquisition, retention, and growth. At HP, we’re laser-focused on aligning priorities and vision to ensure we’re delivering maximum value through our innovations.

Building on the success of our private beta, we’re committed to continue gathering feedback, refining the technology, and ensuring that WXP ultimately achieves product market fit. By following a multi-phased, customer-focused approach, we’re taking steps to solve our customers’ biggest pain points while achieving our business goals.

Stay tuned for more news and updates as we continue this journey of reinventing the workforce experience.

Frequently asked questions

Here's everything you need to know about WXP.

What is the HP Workforce Experience Platform (WXP)?

WXP is an AI-powered digital employee experience (DEX) solution that integrates with various systems and devices to maximize IT efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the employee experience.1

How does WXP work?

WXP equips technology leaders with detailed performance insights of PCs, printers and more, coupled with enhanced preventative workflows to maximize end-user productivity while reducing costs. The SaaS-based platform also has an advanced employee engagement engine and integrates with various third-party systems like ServiceNow, PowerBI, and Tableau, along with integrating printers, virtual desktops, mobile devices and more to maximize IT efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the employee experience.

Can WXP be customized to fit specific business needs?

The platform’s modular design allows for tailored customization and scalability to meet specific business needs. Presently, WXP integrates capabilities for fleet management (formerly HP Proactive Insights) and employee engagement, facilitating direct communication between IT and employees, and targeted feedback collection via device pop-ups and self-help capabilities. Planned optional, add-on modules will include additional devices for fleet management, endpoint security, and Digital Workspaces powered by HP Anyware, all supported by enterprise-level support. Additionally, there are add-on options for hardware, managed services, and print software.

How is WXP modular?

WXP is designed to be modular, allowing organizations to tailor the solution to their specific needs, including Fleet Management, Employee Engagement, Digital Workspaces, and Endpoint Security.

The modular design allows companies to select the capabilities needed to achieve business goals. New capabilities can be added to an existing portal as their business needs change and expand. Initially, WXP comes with fleet management and employee engagement, with the ability to add-on endpoint security, digital workplaces, and/or HP support services for an additional fee.

Is WXP compatible with different vendors and operating systems?

The Platform’s agnostic design allows seamless integration with systems and devices running Windows, macOS, and Android operating systems, regardless of manufacturer. WXP is a cloud-based solution that uses firewall-friendly network ports and sits atop other systems versus a rip-and-replace solution. It does not require a VPN or direct, deep access to customer networks.

How does WXP integrate with other IT tools to provide a more comprehensive solution?

WXP has open APIs for incident and analytics integration to IT tools, as well as pre-configured connectors for ServiceNow, PowerBI, and Tableau available in the 3rd party integrations.

What is a Workforce Experience score?

A Workforce Experience score combines telemetry and user satisfaction sentiment for a comprehensive view of the digital workforce experience. The score refreshes daily, ensuring timely insights. Understand which departments, device models, operating systems, countries, site locations, and devices with specific software installed are experiencing the lowest and highest Experience scores.

The main dashboard provides a snapshot of the workforce experience and critical recommendations for IT teams to act on. IT teams quickly understand where to focus with insights from the Experience score and trendline, fleet inventory breakdown, apps with poor performance, and sentiment by persona.

How is AI used within WXP?

AI is built into the fabric of WXP and makes it easy for IT teams to optimize processes and prevent technology issues by providing:

  • Recommendations: Identify issues from device data and survey results to share recommended actions.
  • Assistance: Take the recommendation and make it executable by IT or an end-user in just a few clicks.
  • Automation: Experience optimization with AI anticipating issues and resolving them with no human involvement.
How can I buy WXP and find out about new releases?

WXP is now available to new and renewing HP Proactive Insights customers in the United States at no additional cost.

Additionally, our beta program is expanding to more countries, in a multi-phased, customer-focused approach to solve our customers’ biggest pain points. Talk to an HP expert to see how WXP can intelligently anticipate and resolve digital friction within your organization.
